Yes, dining here comes at a premium — it was our most expensive meal of the trip — but the experience more than justifies the price. Step inside, and you’re greeted by a breathtaking dining space centered around a large, shimmering pool. Above, a dramatic canopy of glowing lanterns casts a warm, golden light over the scene — creating an atmosphere that’s equal parts magical and intimate. The design blends Art Deco flair with 1920s-inspired sophistication: plush velvet booths, gilded mirrors, and a vintage-style bar that feels plucked from a golden-era European film. We were lucky enough to secure a table on the upper balcony, offering a perfect perch for sipping an Aperol Spritz and enjoying some elegant people-watching below.
The menu leans into classic Italian comfort, with a focus on seafood, grilled meats, and handmade pasta. We opted for the pastas — a delicate fettuccine with prawns and zucchini, and the more adventurous Ravioli “alla tanjia”, filled with olive tapenade in a nod to Moroccan culinary tradition. Both dishes were flavorful and well-executed, though the fettuccine could have used a few more prawns, and the ravioli was slightly over-seasoned.
While it wasn’t our absolute favorite meal in Marrakech from a culinary standpoint, the food was certainly enjoyable — but it’s the unforgettable atmosphere that makes La Trattoria shine. For a date night full of romance, elegance, and a touch of drama, this is the place to be.
